So drove the nine hours back from #RT13 yesterday, following Speed Dating with some Awesome readers.

In hindsight I think I would’ve gotten a 3-day pass for this particular con having really pushed it physically as an author this year.

Here’s a brief re-cap

Wednesday
1. Not at RT. I’m at my M-F job doing month-end from 7am to 7pm. Ugh!
2. Head home, finish packing eat dinner and go to bed.

Thursday
1. Get up at 1am to drive to KC – hoping to be there by 8 or early morning at the latest. DH & I get delayed by winter storms in IA and end up arriving at 11:00 am.
2. Check into hotel. Get to room and find out the work books are not closed. So I have to work for an hour at said job above. Finish at 2pm. Go get lunch in shops under the Westin.
3. Make it to one panel, Steampunk: It’s not about the goggles, do an impromptu pitch of my current WIP and realize the editor is looking at me like I’m an idiot. Clearly I have to re-evaluate this story.
4. Go to the Book Expo hosted by ARE. Quick run over to Isabella Drake’s table and drop off gift basket for The Sex Goddess Hour friday am, don’t introduce myself so not sure if she even knows who I am other than a crazy lady.
Manage to score some swag from Sylvia Day for a co-worker.
5. Go have drinks with Liquid Silver Books (the highlight of my con) and visit with fellow authors. Robyn Peterman shows up – sweet!
6. Go get ready for the 30th annual ball, Debbie Cairo saves me a seat.
7. Attend the 30th Annual Ball, great speakers but given my long day I start nodding off between speeches. Debbie says we have to leave because I’m snoring. :O

Friday
1. Get up at 8am sicker than a dog. DH holding back my hair as I worship the porcelain god. Ugh!
2. Finally manage to recover by noon and we make our way to the shops to find food.
3. Attend one class What rights do you have and how much are they worth? – Really good, decided if I ever go the NY route I would look at the agency that hosted this (Janklow & Nesbit). Smart ladies.
4. Feel bad DH is stuck back at the Westin so go visit him and skip other classes – stupid move Note: Always take classes – that’s what you paid for. DH and I have an early dinner because I heard rumors that there won’t be food at the Vampire Ball.
5. Attend Entangled Publishing’s “Candy & Spoons Reader Event” – another great highlight. I’m pleasantly pleased with the publisher’s marketing techniques and authors seem happy. Hmmm.
6. Attend Heather Graham’s Vampire Ball and guess what? – There’s food. Dang! I have a great time dancing the night away.

Saturday
1. Already a slow planned day as most events are for readers not writers.
2. I’m up early so DH and I head over to the Sheraton to get some breakky. I go to The Giant Book Fair to get the books I’ve won signed and to see if I can picky of Maya Bank’s and Cathy Maxwell’s latest historical.
3. Standing in line, I meet Rosalie Stanton, who also writes for LSB. We have a nice chat and talk shop. For anyone who knows me – you know I could sit and chat shop all day. I love it.
4. Get into the bookfair and get books signed by YA authors Jus Accardo, Lisa Burstein & Victoria Scott. For my personal collection I score Beth Ciotta, Cathy Maxwell & Katee Robert. Alas Maya is nowhere to be found.
5. Head back to have lunch with DH & Debbie. Go for a swim and get ready for evening parties.
6. Attend Carina Press Cocktail Party – this is a fun event I recommend for anyone attending. It’s a great promo opportunity for their authors and readers get to find some new reads. The give-aways are pretty good too. Stay for HQN dance party -got a dress just for this.

Sunday
1. Originally decided to stay all day but hotel is no longer extending the RT room rate and parking is crazy so DH & I opt to leave.
2. Attend Author Speed Dating – this is a fun event and I would do it again. I paired myself with the lovely Lila Dubios, who is both charming and chatty. A nice match for my reserved self. We meet with readers and they ask us questions. Great!
3. Drive 9 hours back to the Dakotas and drink horrible coffee along the way.

All in all it was a nice RT, but wonder if I should’ve stayed local and attended Corecon instead since I missed out on so much.

Until next time be naughty!
~Tina

Caution: Please note the below excerpt is Male/Male and may contain scenes to steamy for vanilla readers.

When I asked Tali if she could share an excerpt with us her response was,

“I wouldn’t be a writer if I didn’t. Here’s a juicy one from Dangerous Beauty:”

The man grabbed Endre’s other wrist and propelled him backward, suddenly off-balance, against one of the pergola’s granite pillars.

“Stay,” his assailant growled in a deep, barely accented voice. Holding Endre’s wrists pinned to the stone over his head, he pressed his body hard against his captive’s. His face slid beside Endre’s, rasping his cheek with bristles of beard. Full, lush lips caressed his ear, planting soft kisses, a hot tongue tracing its edges. “We’re being watched.”

Shit. Had Yanni circled back? One of his two guards wanting to see why he had not returned with the whore? It hardly mattered. The lips that had been softly plying his ear, driving him mad, had just found his mouth. What branded him now was raw and hot, urgent with need. Arshad sucked at his lips, seeking access and finding it, pulling from him the attraction he had fought against for weeks. Endre’s cock thickened with arousal, pushing against the body trapping his against the pillar.

Footsteps sounded on the gravel path, stopped, waited. Someone was there, listening for sure and maybe watching. His guard should have interrupted; Yanni surely would have. This had to be someone else. Frozen by indecision, Endre allowed Arshad’s lips to continue their artful assault. Sweep by sweep, those firm lips commanded his and he resisted less than he should have, kissing back, teeth on teeth, tongues warring as he fought for control. One of them would soon have to breathe and he broke first, throwing his head back, gasping for air. With a triumphant growl, Arshad began pressing hot kisses along the column of his exposed throat.

“Oh, Prophets!” Endre gasped. Overhead, moonlight spilled through the tangle of vines. He turned his head to the right and saw Arshad’s knotted hand manacling his wrist. Dense hair crushed against his cheek, the man’s mouth hot on his collarbone. His cock, already hard enough to be uncomfortable, stiffened painfully against his trousers and he groaned with need and discomfort from the now tight cock cuff.

Arshad ceased his kisses and slammed his body forcefully against him. “Everything you want,” he said, “I can give it to you. Every…fucking…thing.” Those powerful thighs ground his pelvis against Endre’s, rolling cock against stiff cock.

“Damn it, stop,” Endre grated, barely a whisper. Was their watcher still there? He didn’t even know. Worse, he no longer cared. His cock was on a rampage, straining against the cuff secured around his shaft and balls. He jammed his hips forward, pushing back, increasing the contact and the pleasure.

“Not on your life. You’ve been asking for this for weeks. This is what you’re here for, what you need. Not someone small and soft. You want it large and hard.” Arshad bent his head near again, lips brushing his ear, and murmured, “Say it, princeling. Let them hear you say you want it.”

That big hard cock was grinding against his now, creating such sweet friction he knew he would never last. Endre groaned against his clenched teeth. His head sagged forward, bumping Arshad’s shoulder, golden hair spilling across midnight velvet. He was on the fucking edge.

“Say it.” That dark voice vibrated softly beside his ear.

No, he wouldn’t do it. He wasn’t going to say it, no matter what his damn cock was feeling. He shook his head.

“Stubborn,” Arshad grunted. Taking the edge of Endre’s ear between his teeth, he gently bit.

“Ow!” When Endre’s head rocked back in surprise, those predatory eyes seized his with purpose before Arshad’s mouth descended, this time fiercely. His mouth was sealed by those lips, his breath trapped, as captive as he was. Something thick and hot, the other man’s tongue, thrust between his teeth to penetrate and fill him. Already lost to the demanding rhythm of the cock bumping and rubbing against his, he exploded, bucking against Arshad’s body as his shaft bunched and semen jetted into the confines of his trousers. His howl of protest and surrender was muffled by the supple, plundering muscle filling his mouth.

Please welcome fellow Resplendence author Tali Spencer. So Tali, how long have you been writing?

Forever! J I won a poetry contest for children when I was 7 and started writing novels when I was 13 years old. I published my first novel when I was 22, but while raising my children I took a long break during which I didn’t try to get anything published. Even then, I was writing: novels and stories, public relations material, academic papers, and medical articles. I wrote campaign literature! Now I’m writing fiction again full-time and loving it. But how long have I been writing? All of my life.

Q: To date which of your books was the hardest to write and why?

The hardest book to write is always the book I’m writing now. I’m so totally focused on it every problem seems magnified. I think I’ll never beat them down. It’s like wrestling giants. After a book is finally written, I’m exhausted. Thank goodness I think editing is fun.

Q: When you are writing, who is in control? You or your characters?

Me. Always me. I’m a control freak. That said, my process for writing is to follow my characters. I give them enormous freedom, perhaps too much, because occasionally they won’t go where I want them to go. Now I know I can force them to do whatever I want. I’ve done that at times, however much they dislike it. But sometimes they suggest a path I didn’t originally anticipate, and it’s a better path! In Captive Heart, I originally intended Julissa’s family (except for her conniving brother) to be loving and warm, but her father turned out to be a cold bastard. He was better that way and I embraced him. He’s a wonderful villain in Dangerous Beauty, where he is abusive to his son who has to hide that he’s gay.

Q: Who has had the most influence on your writing?

My husband. Sounds strange, right? But it’s true! He’s been my biggest fan ever since I first showed him one of my stories, and he told me years ago I should write romance. I started out writing science fiction and fantasy, but I love the passion and intimacy of romance and he saw that. He’s also a wonderful editor and has helped me rein in my tendency to overwrite. In terms of who I admire as a writer, that would be Ursula LeGuin. Her prose is luminous.

Q: Have you had any “ah ha” moments as a writer?

I have them all the time! I will see two characters together and realize I have a new pair to write about. Or a character will say something unexpected and I go “Ah-ha!” because they’ve just generated a new plot point or personality trait that I can make into something special. Often my moments are subtle things about how I can link characters and scenes thematically. That happened a lot in Dangerous Beauty, where I linked celestial mechanics to religion and sex.

Q: What advice do you have for other writers?

Write. Just write. Don’t worry about getting your story published. Don’t worry about reviews of your recently published book. Just write the story you want to read. Take chances and trust your gut. On a more practical note, though: if you want to publish, make an effort to learn the business. Because it is a business and it pays off in spades to know as much as you can about the ins and outs.

Q: What do you find the most difficult aspect of this business we are in?

Every author will probably have a different answer to this one. For me, it’s promotion. I’m painfully shy and terribly respectful of other people, so I hate putting myself out there and saying, “Look at me. Please read this book. Give it a chance.” I have a blog, and I really enjoy doing that, because people choose to visit it, so I do my best to make it interesting with free stories and fun posts. I also love going to conventions and talking directly to people. Go figure, right? I love meeting people, just not popping up on them asking for their time. You won’t find me spamming people on Twitter and Facebook. I shy away from tooting my own horn.

Q: What drew you as a writer to the M/M genre of erotic romance?

I love romance in all its forms. My first book with Resplendence, Captive Heart, was a male/female romance. The second book in the series, Dangerous Beauty, has just been released and is M/M. It deals with the heroine’s brother. What I love about M/M is that I get to write about two heroes. I adore writing about men and the way they interact with each other. Men falling in love with other men is almost always against the societal norm, so as a writer I get to create not just the relationship but the social fabric in which it takes place. That’s why the Uttor books are special to me, because I move between pairings to show how all the brothers and sisters find love in a society torn by war and different religions.

Q: What is on tap for the rest of 2013?

I am finishing the third Uttor book, about Gaspar’s sister Adora and her romance with Vallmer, a prince who desperately needs an alliance to save his beleaguered country. Problem is… she’s pregnant. I’m having fun writing about a relationship where going to bed with the heroine isn’t the foremost thought in the hero’s mind, at least not at first. He falls in love with her before he falls into lust. I’m also writing the fourth book, about Peta, the youngest brother and his romance with an Uttoran general, Darius. Besides the Uttor books, I’m working on a science fiction novel and a fantasy. And I have a M/M sword and sorcery buddy novel on submission about which I hope to hear something soon.

Q: Where can readers find you on the World Wide Web?

I’m pretty easy to find. My blog: http://talismania-brilliantdisguise.blogspot.com/

Please enjoy this Excerpt from The Princes Knighted, available now at LSBooks.com

She opened the door and stepped inside. “Hugh?”

There was no candle to light her way as she stepped farther into the room. A shaft of moonlight spilled through the window and fell across a figure lounging in the shadows.

“What are you doing here, Sara?” Hugh slurred the words.

She hurried to his side and reached for the bottle clutched in his hand. “Hugh, give it to me.”

“If you came to stop me from drowning my sorrows, you are too late.”

Sara ignored him and succeeded in wrestling the bottle from his grip. She set it aside and turned back to Hugh with a sigh. “I wanted to make sure you had not left.”

“I thought about it.” A harsh laugh escaped him. “Lord knows there is no reason for me to remain here where everyone I care about has lied to me for three years.”

Sara lifted her hand to cradle his cheek. “I am here, Hugh, and I have not lied to you.”

Hugh’s eyes glinted as he leaned forward, and moonlight fell across his face. “I have to leave, Sara. You are probably the main reason I should.”

“Why?” She ran her fingertips across his cheek and down the strong line of his jaw.

He growled low in his throat, and his hand came up to cover hers. “Why did you come here, Sara?”

“I told you, to make sure you had not left.”

His hand wrenched hers away from his face. “You should go.”

“No, I won’t. I have something I need to say first.”

“Then say it.”

Sara’s gaze roamed his face, the dark eyes hiding the pain he didn’t want to share with anyone, and the stubborn jaw that refused to admit he needed her.

“I love you.”

Hugh closed his eyes and softly cursed. “Sara…”

She covered his lips with the fingers of her free hand. “No, listen to me. I needed you to know before you leave.”

He turned his head and freed his mouth enough to speak. “I do know, Sara.”

“And?” she prompted.

Hugh groaned. “What do you want me to say, Sara? That I love you too? I can’t do that. I can’t be what you need me to be.”

“All I want is you, Hugh. I am not asking you to change.”

“No, but I would have to.” Hugh lifted the hand he still held to his lips and brushed a fleeting kiss across her knuckles. “Marry the duke. He can give you what I can’t.”

Sara wanted to cry in frustration. “I don’t want him. I want you.”

Without stopping to think, Sara leaned forward and pressed her lips to Hugh’s. He pushed her away, and a cry ripped from her throat. “Stop fighting me, Hugh.”

He surged to his feet, and she scrambled backward to keep from being knocked over. He wrapped his left arm around her waist and pulled her back to him. “I’ve tried, Sara. I don’t want to fight.”

Her breasts heaved against his chest as she dragged in a deep breath. She ran a hand up his chest and curved it around his neck. “Kiss me, Hugh.”

“Sara,” Hugh breathed. His struggle for restraint was visible on his face.

She lifted her face and stood on her tiptoes to bring her lips within inches of his. “Kiss me.”

“You don’t know what you’re asking.”

Her eyes remained open and focused on his. “Yes, I do.”

“God help you if you don’t,” Hugh said in a harsh whisper as his lips swooped down and covered hers.

Please join me in welcoming fellow Liquid Silver Books Author, Robin Danner. Welcome Robin! So happy you could join us. So Robin, what do you feel is the most important aspect for all new authors to remember when writing or creating their own stories?

As a new author, it’s important to remember what your goals are regarding writing. When I first started, I answered almost every submission call I saw. This meant I was all over the place genre-wise. I finally decided I would stick with historical and/or paranormals as Robin Danner. I found my “voice” and stuck with it whether I’m writing a Regency or a vamp.

Q: Who has had the most influence on your writing?

Definitely Julia Quinn! I love the mix of humor and emotion in her Regencies. And I love the fact she doesn’t overload you with dates and facts of actual historical events. For me, the romance should carry the story. If I wanted a history lesson, I would break out a textbook!

Q: Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

I hardly ever have writer’s block anymore. I used to though. Now if I write myself into a corner, all I do is end the scene as quickly as possible and move on to the next. After I finish the story, I came back and flesh out the scene where I got stuck. It’s worked wonders for me!

Q: To date which of your books was the hardest to write and why?

Hmm…that’s a hard one! Probably Petting the Cat, which was in the Witch in Time anthology. It’s no longer available, but in that story I took on witches. I’m afraid I wasn’t too familiar with the occult, so I pretty much sucked at that one! I learned my lesson though and now only write stories I feel passionate about. This hearkens back to my comment on answering all the submission calls I saw.

Q: Which one of your covers is your favorite and why?

Oh my gosh, that’s a hard question! All of my covers have been so pretty! The cover I had the most emotional reaction to was The Princes Bound. April Martinez knocked it out of the park with that one! I opened the email and literally gasped. It was perfect! Color-wise though I’m quite fond of my Stroke of Midnight cover.

Q: You are currently writing a series at LSB called The Princes. How did you come up with the idea for this series?

Originally it was meant to be a two book collection. I knew I wanted two princes, who were brothers. The titles came to me first as I wanted a play on the words Bound and Determined. As I wrote the second story, I’d created a character and conflict that practically begged me to write a third book. So Knighted came along, which of course opened up the potential for more stories. I’ve just contracted a fourth book. I have plans for a fifth, and final, book coming soon.

Q: How much research do you conduct for your historical books and what was the most interesting thing you did while conducting your research?

Is it wrong of me to say most of my research comes from reading other historical romances? Yes? Well, in that case, I spend hours and hours researching the time period I’m writing. ; )

Seriously though, my recent series is loosely termed historical, but it’s actually fantasy as it occurs in a made-up world. I wanted the ability to create a political and military history for my kingdoms. It’s vaguely similar to 16th century England and France. Creating my own history for my characters is actually harder than sticking to solid facts. I have to keep everything straight in my head…the geography, the politics, and such. I had no easy reference to Google and make sure I was right.

Q: What books can we expect to see in the near future?

The Princes Wanted, book 4 in my series, is coming in May from Liquid Silver Books. The fifth book hopefully will be soon after. Once I wrap up this series, I’m kinda curious to see where I will go next!

Q: Where can readers find you on the World Wide Web?

“I’m not going to hurt you,” the man told her as he took a step forward. “Not in the way you think, anyway.”

“If you move I will shoot,” Nel warned, recalling Mother Gothel’s teaching that all men lied. The problem was, she too was lying. If she had it in her to shoot this man, she would have done so long before he reached the Tower.

The man stopped immediately, his hands remaining in the air. “I’m not armed. Put the gun down before you accidentally shoot me.”

Nel’s eyebrows rose in confusion. “I have never accidentally shot anyone,” she said, trying to compose her thoughts. For some reason this man’s very presence unsettled her, making her feel odd sensations in her stomach and causing her heart rate to increase despite the freezing wind.

She wouldn’t describe the man’s face as attractive, but for some reason she couldn’t take her gaze off it. There was something about him, a sense of strength and the promise of protection that made her feel oddly safe, even though the truth was clearly the opposite. She had no reason to trust this person, no reason not to believe he had every intention of hurting her. Even then, knowing too well what might happen, Nel couldn’t bring herself to execute him.

The man’s lips curved into a crooked grin, and Nel felt as if her heart skipped a beat. “You know what? I actually believe you. You’re probably the best sniper I have ever met.”

Please join me in welcoming fellow LSB author, Tara Quan. Let’s leap right into it shall we? So Tara, how long have you been writing?

In seventh grade, I had an English teacher who decided to veer off my Catholic school’s stringent curriculum. She made her classes Writer’s Workshops, where students were able to read or write whatever they pleased. The three months I spent in that workshop made me realize that, as long as I wasn’t writing essays or research papers, I actually enjoyed writing. Unfortunately for my teacher, her unorthodox teaching methods resulted in her having to leave the school mid-semester.

By the time I was in high school, I was churning out Harry Potter fanfiction. Then college admission season hit, and I stopped writing cold turkey. Being an overly sensible teenager, I decided I was going to be “a doctor, lawyer or engineer.” I was petrified of not having money and was certain becoming a writer was the path to starvation.

Three years after graduating from college my husband’s career brought me to a crossroads. By then, I was self-aware enough to realize that I didn’t want to have a traditional career. I didn’t want to write legal briefs or science papers; I didn’t want to type up memos and correspondence. I also didn’t want to write the next great American novel. I wanted to write romances.

That was just under three years ago, and I’ve been writing ever since.

Q: What is your writing process? Do you outline, fly by the seat of your pants or a combination of both? Do you use mood music, candles, no noise, when you write?

I outline, but in my head. My husband can attest to periods where I seem to just go away. It is in this quasi-trance state that the building blocks of my story fall into place. Only once the entire story has been figured out do I sit down and start typing. I prefer absolute silence during this phase, but since I share a small apartment with a certain someone, that is usually not achieved.

Q: How do you make time to write?

I have no children and a very low-maintenance husband who still owes me brownie points (his dream job requires relocation every 1-3 years, usually to rather odd corners of the world). Although I do have a full-time day-job, I usually can squeeze in multiple writing sessions during the week. My husband’s work also limits our ability to go out and about (let the brownie points rain), which means that all my weekends are pretty much free. I’ve bartered my brownie points for cooking services, which leaves me with plenty of time to write. I certainly got the better end of that deal.

Q: When you are writing, who is in control? You or your characters?

My characters do whatever they want to do. I just tell their story.

Q: How did you deal with rejection letters, if you received any?

Badly. I mope around for hours, sighing and feeling sorry for myself. Once I get over the disappointment, I do a thorough revision before looking for other places where I can submit. As a new author, rejections are a huge blow, so I am guilty of “trunking” manuscripts quickly and moving on to the next project. Now that I’ve managed to get one contract, I might go back and resuscitate one or two.

Q: Tell us about when you received your first contract?

Tower in the Woods was written in answer to a very specific submission call. When that yielded a form rejection, I had very little hope it would get published. After all, who else would want a post-apocalyptic zombie romance? I revised, sent it out again, and got another form rejection. At that point, I was ready trunk it. (Gasp! After only two rejections? – What can I say? I’m a new author more inclined to believing that my writing is just not quite there yet.)

Liquid Silver Books kept on coming up in the research I was doing while fending off a bad case of writer’s block. I had a gut feeling Tower in the Woods had the potential to be a good fit for their catalogue. I just had to amp up the heat level a bit, which would be good practice even if it didn’t work out.

I did another round of revisions with this in mind, and I sent it over to their submissions email. My hopes were so low that I did not do the “obsessive refreshing of email” dance. If they answer, I thought, it won’t be for a while and it would most likely be another form rejection.

Less than two weeks later, I got an acceptance email. I literally shrieked and called my husband, who was doing some work in another city. His answer was: “Seriously? The zombie one?”

Q: You’re currently writing an Undead Fairy Tales Series, what’s your inspiration for this series and can you tell us a little bit about that world?

As I mentioned, Tower in the Woods was a response to a submission call for a Zombie Fairy Tale. A very wise editor came up with the awesome idea, not me. But the world as well as the story itself is my baby:

Sixty years before the novella starts, the human race was besieged by the Undead Reanimation Virus. At the advent of the outbreak, the Federal Government made the executive decision to isolate Washington, D.C. and cut off all contact with the outside world. Thirty years later, scientists discover a vaccine for URV (which has various cool side-effects: elimination of disease, increased strength, and who knows what else we’ll discover as the series progresses).

It takes close to another decade for New America’s leadership to consider the possibility of opening up its doors to what is left of the outside world. To assess that situation, they send out agents (one of whom is my hero) to gather intelligence about what has happened since they closed their borders all those years ago. One remaining enclave of humans is the Women’s Independent Territories Church (WITCH)—a feminist cult located in what was once Fort Belvoir.

I spent a great deal of time on word building, and most of that did not make it into the novella. If anyone’s interested in the nitty-gritty of it all, I detailed it a blog post: http://taraquan.com/2012/12/09/the-end-of-the-world-undead-fairy-tales-style/

Q: What is on tap for the rest of 2013?

I’m writing the second book in the Undead Fairy Tales series. I’m about a third of the way through the first draft, and it is tentatively titled Cottage in the Woods. It’s set a few months after the end of Tower in the Woods, and the heroine’s name is Scarlet Riding (which should give away the fairy tale it’s based on).

Closer on the horizon is Warlock’s Pawn, a dark fantasy novella inspired by The Arabian Nights. It has been accepted by LSB for publication, and it is currently going through the editing stage. I had a great deal of fun creating a fantasy world replete with magic and fey-like creatures, as well as aiming for a higher heat level

Q: Where can readers find you on the World Wide Web?

My website/blog is http://www.taraquan.com/. I tweet as @LaylaTarar (https://twitter.com/LaylaTarar) and I do have a very nascent author page on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/taraquanauthor). I am a GoodReads member, and I will be turning my user account into an author account as soon as Tower in the Woods goes live.

Where are all the bedroom Doms? Sick of men pushing her limits, Bridget Sanger brings up the issue on her secret blog. Bridget is ready to give up on kinky love and focus on her career. The blog is supposed to be her last rant, but it takes off. A meddling coworker tracks the page to her and knows the perfect Dom for Bridget.

Stuffy-outside-hot-inside History professor, Scott Kasten finds Bridget an intriguing challenge. History has taught him love never lasts, but their kink could be forever. She’s never thought of Scott like that, but it turns her on all the more to see his sexual side. He’s a man of his word, and she trusts him with her body. The sex is amazingly intense, but she wants a real relationship, and she won’t settle!

Caution: Light BDSM Play ahead. A Sexy Excerpt from Love & History…

available at Resplendence Publishing

She unbuttoned her skirt and slid it down to the floor. Stepping out of her pumps, she regretted wearing boring cotton cream and paisley panties. They did match her bra but were bikini cut, if it helped. “I have lace and satin at home.”

“I have nothing against cotton.” He slid his hand from the top of her thigh-high nylons up to her hip and momentarily slipped a finger under the material.

Carefully folding the skirt, she fought the seductive fog he was putting off. She worked free her tiny blouse buttons then slipped it off and set it atop the skirt.

“All of it, Sir?”

He stood and nodded.

Letting the panties fall, she sat on the edge of the chair to roll off the stockings.

“Not those. They can stay,” he said.

Smiling slightly, she kept her eyes down and put the stocking back in place before unhooking her bra. She stood up and waited for more instruction.

“Move over here away from the table.” He pointed to a spot on an area rug in front of his coffee table.

She admired his apartment from what her gaze allowed. It was very manly with dark leather couches and wooden tables. It felt very much like him. Standing on the indicated spot, she waited. Inside her a fire raged for relief, but he’d tease her first. Since he’d walked into her office that morning, she’d been wet and restless for play. Now, she was naked for him.

He was so calm and deliberate that she wanted to rip off his clothes and give in that instant. What a punishment she’d get! But it was their first time, and she wanted to be good. He had to come back for more. Of all the outcomes from that blog, she’d never imagined this!

“Why are you grinning?” He pinched her ass.

“I was thinking that this is the last thing I dreamed of when I wrote that blog last night.” Lying was pointless. He could have her if he wanted.

“I never expected this either.” He caressed her ass cheeks then slapped one of them.

The fire grew, and her skin tingled. “Thank you, Sir.”

“You like it?” he asked in her ear.

“I do. Please, tell me what to do. Let me service you.” She ran her hand along the front of his dress pants.

The view of him, sleeves rolled up as if ready for work, so intent on her made her feel the complete opposite from last night. He wanted her. His cock pulsed under her touch before he pushed her hand away. This was special. When he smacked her ass twice on each cheek, harder than before, she knew she was where she belonged. Moaning softly, she closed her eyes as the wetness in her pussy grew.

“Take that clip out of your hair,” he said.

She obeyed quickly. He took it from her then played with it along her sensitive breasts.

“Please,” she said.

“What?” he asked. “You don’t like it?”

“No, I love it. Nipple clamps, clothes pins, I love it.” She could nearly get off on rough breast play, but he’d learn that.

“Then please what?” he asked, standing dead in front of her and very close.

The scent of him was like books with a hint of musk. “Please, Sir, let me see you.”

“Ah. Fair is fair.” He stepped back. “But I don’t think this game is fair.”

“At least, your shirt, please. I promise I won’t touch unless you allow it.” She fought the urge to tear his shirt open and lick his chest.

“What do you want right now?” he asked.

“To rip your clothes and suck your cock, Sir.” The words flew without shame. There was a bit of relief behind them. The anticipation of what would come next charged her.

“You may unbutton my shirt,” he said.

Her hands flew to his chest and carefully worked the buttons loose. When she spread the fabric, she nearly fell to her knees. All the hard muscle and teasing layer of chest hair she’d imagined were true. His broad shoulders and strong arms were so sexy, and she couldn’t stop herself. She kissed the center of his chest and licked to taste his skin.

“You’re a bad girl,” he said.

“I’ve been deprived of the right way, the right release, for so long. I can take the punishment for my crimes, Sir.” She knelt, letting her tongue drag down his hard abs and over his belt. She kissed his erection through the dress pants and inhaled deeply.

His hand fisted in her hair and pulled her back. “No, you don’t get to taste first. Get in there, on the bed. Don’t touch anything!” He pointed to the hall.

“Yes, Sir.” She crawled and hoped he’d give her everything she deserved. Kneeling on the bed, she folded her hands in her lap. She’d seen handcuffs, toys and other fun things on his dresser. He’d planned for her like this. The thrill took her deeper into wanting to please him. As much as her cunt throbbed for attention, she needed his attention everywhere.

He walked in, and she looked. Then she stared. He was naked, and his thick cock made her body shiver at the thought of riding him.

“Hands behind your head. Lie back flat on the bed,” he said.
