He was about to ask as much when she moved toward him, her pace full of purpose. She grabbed his face and kissed him.

I’ve always thought of Valentine’s day as a holiday for the unmarried, despite the origins of the holiday originating around Saint Valentine and his marrying of young couples.
And I think it is a wonderful thing when children get to make boxes and get cards. I enjoyed it as a child and my children did as well. I sort of wish this had been a thing at the offices I worked at.
I don’t like the hecticness of it, the rush to buy a present and/or card, reservations for dinner, waiting for dinner, and then trying to have a conversation with your loved one when you can barely hear above the din of noise.
As a married person, I have a day just for my spouse and me, June 15th, our anniversary.
I have spent the holiday alone, when my husband has worked or when he was deployed. And I usually would get myself a box of chocolates, a microwave dinner and settle in with a movie, or better a good book.
This year, I’m planning on making my husband dinner and I’m hoping for a box of chocolates. 🙂
